What is Algebra?

Algebra is an abstract branch of Mathematics. In its most general sense, it deals with the study of quantities and how these quantities can be manipulated to produce new values. Some people believe that algebra is just a set of formulas, but it's much more than that. It is a way to describe, analyze, and solve problems. The basic idea in algebra is to take the formula for one formula and put it into another formula. This new formula will be the result of applying the first formula. Negative numbers are possible in algebra, although they only exist on the set of real numbers. The set of complex numbers is also a number system and as such can include negative numbers as well as positive ones. There is also a "field" of imaginary numbers which can also include negative numbers. Algebra is used to solve all kinds of problems, and since it's such a useful building block, many other branches of mathematics grow out of it. They are often called "algebraic" branches because the ideas in them were first described in algebra. The word "algebra" comes from Latin algebras, meaning science with formulas. Algebra is a good way to describe patterns of numbers and relationships between numbers. There are many ways to describe algebraic structures, but these are not the only ways. For example, a formula in algebra may be a sentence that states that all possible combinations of letters in parentheses will produce the desired result.
